Will my cabinets handle the weight?
The weight of the counter is destributed evenly.  The requirement is the cabinet needs to be made of plywood framing.  Most older cabinets are made of plywood.  If you are adding new ones, you need to request plywood construction.  I will inspect, your cabinets at no charge.  Reinforcement is included in the installation price.

How do I maintain my counter top?
Avatar Stone requires virtually no maintenance other than normal cleaning.  We recommend cleaning with warm water and a non-abrasive sponge or towel. And, a twice a month follow up with a spray-and- wipe polish to keep the protection.

What kind of warranty?
We stand by our name. So we then offer a lifetime warranty against manufacturing and structural defects.  Our pieces can be distinguished by the (Avatar Stone) artist stamp on corner of one of the pieces installed. This shows it is a quality original from our studio.

Do Avatar Stone countertops have an application in more traditional kitchens?
Absolutely. Style is dictated by design; concrete can adapt to any look. For example, edge detailing and decorative inlays can help a concrete counter blend into more traditional environments

Can I use Avatar Stone countertops as a cutting surface?
As with marble or granite, we do not recommend cutting directly on a concrete surface, as it could result in scratches and gouges in the finish of your counter as well as harm the blades of your knives.

Can Avatar Stone chip, flake, or crack?
As with marble and granite, concrete corners and edges can chip if struck by a hard object. Hairline cracks can develop, but these are not structural failures; rather, they are inherent characteristics of the material.

What are my color options?
We make custom colors for your personal design. You can start by choosing from a Benjamin Moore paint color chart. Your custom formulations will be kept on file for future use.  The color possibilities are endless. Shading differences may occur in formed stone as they do in all natural materials. Each and every piece is unique and can vary in tonality and texture. Again, keep in mind that concrete is a natural product and colors will vary against the sample slabs.

Will it stain?
Nothing is completely stain proof, however, we believe Avatar Stone to be the most stain resistant counter of its type. We use industry leading admix to our formulation, which works on the capillary structure of the concrete, making it more permeable. Our countertops are more stain resistant against lemon juice, soda spills and other acidic products under normal use.

Can your products be used in commercial as well as home applications?
Our concrete is very versatile and durable for any type of residential and/or commercial applications. Please call us for any special requirements needed for your application.


Can we leave our original sink and counter in until installation date?
Yes, unlike other countertop companies.  You do not have to go weeks without countertops.


Can I put a hot pot directly onto a concrete kitchen counter?
Concrete is heat-resistant but is subject to thermal shock if a red-hot object is placed directly upon it. Like granite, the exposed area may flake or chip away if too much heat is applied. In addition, the heat could damage the sealer and wax applied to the surface. We recommend using trivets for hot cookware.
